Essential Functions:
The Electro-mechanic is responsible to maintain, troubleshoot and repair a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment.
This position requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters, such as electrical controls, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
The employee will perform medium to high-level machine systems troubleshooting and repair including retort cooling system, can washer, conveyor, gear motor and ink jet system.
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (Saturday & Sunday as needed)
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Complete assigned PMs and WOs with complete thoroughness and report all parts used and any findings
PM’s/WOs assigned will primarily consist of electrical/controls issues but mechanical issues will be assigned as well
Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on operating and material handling equipment, efficiently and on a timely manner to ensure daily production requirements are met
Overhaul and install new equipment
Perform electrical and mechanical repairs throughout the facility, maintain working area clean and free of debris
Calibrate Pressure, Temperature, Flow and Level Sensing devices
Generate part requests to ensure adequate inventory
Diagnose, test, repair and adjust AC/DC systems, industrial controllers, (analog and digital), and wiring up to 480V
Read and work from electrical schematics, diagrams, and drawings
Understand basics of electrical control circuits, VFDs, drives, controls, etc.
Complete all required reporting and documentation promptly
Report any equipment malfunction and unsafe practices immediately to Supervisor on duty
Observe a good and professional relationship with others (internal and external) while in promises
Required to supply hand tools
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education:
High School graduate or GED equivalent
Formal education in Electronics, Maintenance, Controls (preferred)
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Mechanical knowledge (3 years preferred)
Electrical knowledge (3 years preferred)
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
Fluent in Spanish is a plus
Must have basic computer skills
Experience and Background:
Minimum (5) years of experience as maintenance mechanic electrician
Must have knowledge and understanding of electrical principles to include safety
1-5 years of industrial maintenance experience required
Must know and practice LO/TO
Previous experience within high-speed industrial environment in a food or beverage manufacturing environment
Programmable Logic Control (PLC) knowledge preferred
Proficient in application and troubleshooting of Micro, Limit, Proximity, and Photoelectric switches.
Inductive and Capacitive
Sensors, and various types of Level Controls.
Experience in calibration of Pressure, Temperature, Flow and Level Sensing devices.
Understanding of preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance methods
Knowledge of basic math, metric system, mechanical and industrial instrumentation
Must be able to read and comprehend electrical diagrams schematics and blueprints
Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel (verbal/written)
Knowledge of general-purpose toolbox with proper tools to maintain and service equipment
Available to work flexible; weekend hours based on production demand
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting
Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times
