Overview:
The applications engineer plays an essential role working closely with the sales organization and the customer to develop technical solutions to meet the customer need.
The Applications Engineer works from customer requirements and applies knowledge of NSI-Mi’s products and industry methodologies to architect affordable system solutions.
NSI-MI systems are designed for microwave measurements of test items including automotive communications systems, antennas, and radomes used in radar, communications (wireless and satellite), and other applications.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be required to analyze requirements, conduct technical analysis
Maintain effective internal control of all business unit operations and locations to ensure continued protection of its assets and an accurate reporting of its financial position.
Provide management with monthly, quarterly and annual reviews of the organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities in accordance with the Corporations reporting formats and requirements.
Partner with sales and operations management to manage working capital by balancing inventory, accountants payable, and accounts receivable.
Forecast Business Unit business activity and financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations in accordance with the Corporation’s reporting formats and requirements.
As strategic business partner to business leaders, identify positive and negative trends, with sufficient depth of underlying detail to have confidence in conclusions and suggested next steps.
Direct preparation of budgets by reviewing budget proposals; prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification
Arrange audits of business unit financials, as well as internal and external audit requirements and US Sarbanes Oxley-404 (SOX) testing and compliance.
Perform due diligence on potential acquisition targets.
Develops models, business forecasts and trend analysis to support these opportunities, as needed.
Drive IT strategy as defined by Division Director of IT, and management of information technology
Represent the company externally, as necessary, to government agencies and auditors.
Recruit, train, supervise, and develop department staff and conduct annual performance evaluation.
Upgrade talent where and when necessary.
This position may require approximately 25% domestic and international travel.
Must have the ability to obtain or have a U.
S.
Government security clearance.
Desirable skills:
RF system design, specification development and interpretation, microwave communications
Hands-on experience with antenna test ranges
Knowledge of mechanical positioning systems
Familiarity with MATLAB, GRASP, HFSS and other industry analytical tools
Experience Level:
Expertise in antenna and/or radome measurement techniques.
Familiarity with automated RF test equipment.
5+ years of experience with antenna/radome testing.
Ability to write, edit, review and publish technical papers.
Good communication skills.
Education Level:
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering (Required)
Masters (Desired)
