Sage Goddess is looking for a full-time Manager of Finance & Accounting to join its fast-growing team at its brand-new headquarters in Carson.
Reporting to the COO, the Manager will be responsible for all financial analysis and accounting for the organization, including purchasing, AR, AP, inventory analysis, account reconciliation, financial reporting, forecasting, etc.
S/he will be responsible for leading the management, development, interpretation and administration of policies and processes relating to accounting, internal control, and overall financial reporting and analysis.
A day in the life of this position requires the Manager of Finance and Accounting to successfully:
* Prepare consolidated financial reporting, including annual financial statements, monthly consolidated financial reports to senior management, lenders and consolidated budgets and forecasts.
* Manage, coordinate, and report on budgets and forecasts for various departments and business functions, including marketing, personnel and product acquisition.
* Provide analysis and recommendations for products, personnel, and other areas of financial impact that could drive innovation and efficiency across the organization.
* Build internal processes and controls, and provide ongoing monitoring and reporting of compliance for procurement, payroll expense, inventory, capital, and other business expenses.
* Audit and report sales tax liabilities, where applicable, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as required in each region, and stay abreast of changes.
* Manage outside audit and accounting partner(s) for the purposes of quarterly/annual tax preparation and payment; perform preliminary tax analysis and forecasts, and provide supporting information and documentation required for determining tax liabilities.
* Various accounting tasks, managed centrally, including maintenance of the general ledgers/chart of accounts, asset management and capital reporting, intercompany balances and creation/validation of extract files for reporting.
* Coach, mentor and develop staff, and promote a positive work environment to attract and retain great talent.
* Identify and implement best practices for finance and accounting to ensure an efficient, cost effective company operations.
* Assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned by the COO.
*What You Bring:*
* Degree in accounting/CPA.
* A minimum of 5 years' progressive financial and accounting experience, at least 3 years of which are in a supervisory/management capacity.
* Technically strong in US GAAP/accounting principles, practices and procedures.
* Knowledgeable and innovative in identifying opportunities for business and process improvements.
* Well-versed in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting and business planning.
* Proven ability to develop and implement changes improving effectiveness of accounting practices and processes.
* Good knowledge of computer systems applications to accounting, administration and operations.
* Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Excel is mandatory.
* Flexible, multi-tasking Driver or Type A personality with high energy who enjoys and functions well in a fast-paced environment.
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines through effective time management.
* Good ability to direct, coach, develop and motivate staff.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Strong interpersonal skills; good team player with ability to build and nurture solid relationships.
* Ability to lead through consensus and influence while appreciating the need for effective decision making and results.
