TITLE: Certified Youth Bus Driver
DEPARTMENT: Transportation
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director
POSITION STATUS: Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for providing safe, on-time transportation of Club members from school to the Club and from the Club for planned excursions.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Prepare Youth for Success
Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
Implement day-to-day Transportation program plan in accordance with established standards and goals.
Promote and encourage Transportation program participation;
Provide instruction and constructive feedback to members so they are able to safely and effectively use the Transportation program
Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
Program Development and Implementation
Implement the Transportation program services and activities for members.
Ensure the safety of members, quality of programs, safety and appearance of the vehicles at all times.
Complete all required pre-trip inspections.
Immediately inform Transportation Director of any problems or concerns.
Follow routes and pickup locations as assigned.
Work with Transportation Director to make any adjustments to routes and/or pick up locations.
Follow Club guidelines regarding member participation.
Complete daily attendance reports.
Empty the vehicle of any trash or items left on bus.
Secure the vehicle and keys as instructed.
Respond in the event of a medical emergency, providing appropriate medical attention for ill or injured child in accordance with parental and Club instructions.
Supervision
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in periodic staff meetings.
Marketing and Public Relations
In collaboration with Transportation Director, increase visibility of Club programs via distribution of Club information to schools.

Wear approved Club uniform and maintain professional appearance when representing the Club.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
May participate in special programs and/or events.
May participate in the implementation of other activities as necessary.
May consult with parents concerning member and branch issues.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instruction; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents/guardians, and others to assist in resolving problems.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
High School diploma or GED.
Clean driving record.
Class B Drivers License with Passenger Endorsement.
Special Drivers Certificate.
DL-51 Medical Card.
CPR/First Aid Certification.
Experience in working with children preferred.
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
Ability to deal with the general public.
Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
Ability to pass a background and drug screening in accordance with Club policies.
Mandatory CPR and First Aid certification.
Mandatory mandated reporter and abuse prevention trainings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This work environment includes operating a passenger loaded vehicle and loud fast-paced Club environment.
The model Driver will thrive in an extraordinarily fast-paced environment that features constant change.
This position requires employee flexibility, patience and ability to problem-solve and innovate.
Employee must be able to work club hours of operation.
This position is active and requires speaking, sight, hearing, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing and sitting for more than four hours each day.
This position requires the ability to move quickly throughout club facilities, in and out of Club vehicles, and other physical requirements needed to complete essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds.
