Position Summary Ecology Auto Parts Inc.
is seeking a Service Writer/Parts Runner to join our team.
As a Service Writer/Parts Runner, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our parts department, by providing internal support to Fleet Driver Supervisors, writing repair orders, and managing the flow of parts in and out of the department.
Responsibilities Greet and assist Fleet Driver Supervisors with their automotive parts and service needs Write repair orders for Fleet Driver Supervisors, including all necessary details and service recommendations Communicate with technicians to ensure they have the necessary parts for repairs Monitor the inventory of parts, tools, and equipment and notify the appropriate personnel of any shortages or discrepancies Maintain accurate and organized records of all parts transactions and invoices Prepare and deliver parts to technicians as needed Data Entry Parts Counting Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks in the parts department Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Valid California Driver’s License REQUIRED (Must have a valid driver's license AND clean driving record) Minimum of 1 year of experience in the automotive industry Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor Strong organizational and time-management skills Data entry skills a plus Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively Familiarity with automotive parts and their functions Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus Physical Demands/Environmental Factors While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Some local travel required Compensation The Parts Runner/Service Writer position offers a competitive hourly wage between $16 and $22 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
