TITLE: Youth Instructor Float
DEPARTMENT: Program
REPORTS TO: Unit Director
POSITION STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part-Time
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities in all Club program areas such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education for members at any of BGCGAC’s Clubhouses.

Prepare Youth for Success
Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
Promote and stimulate program participation;
Participate in orientation of new members;
Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
Program Development and Implementation
Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for members of various age groups at all locations.
Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times.
Prepare periodic activity reports.
Prepare weekly lesson plans outlining planned activities.
Supervision
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in regular staff meetings.
Resource Development
Assists with fundraising activities.
Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facility and equipment.
Participate in special programs and/or events.
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in the Employee Handbook, Ethics Policy and elsewhere.
May be required to drive Club van.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instruction; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents/guardians, and others to assist in resolving problems.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
High School diploma or GED.
AA degree or equivalent.
Experience in working with children.
Knowledge of youth development.
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
Ability to deal with the general public.
Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
Ability to pass a background and drug screening in accordance with Club policies.
Tuberculosis Bacillus (TB) clearance.
Mandatory mandated reporter and abuse prevention training.
Ability to transport oneself between club locations.
Valid drivers license/insurance if driving a personal vehicle.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is in a loud fast-paced Club environment, both indoors and outdoors.

This position requires employee Employee must be able to work club hours of operation.
This position is very active and requires sight, hearing, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing for more than four hours each day, ability to move quickly throughout club facilities, and other physical requirements needed to complete essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds.
