This position is for a Summer Counselor in one of our Chadwick Summer Programs.
Arts Unlimited, Camp, Hilltop Sports, Minis, Prep, Prep+, Pool (Lifeguards)
In addition, we are seeking a small number of counselors able to assist during Passport Week (June 10-14) and Encore Week (July 22-26)
Details of each program are available in the online brochure.

Job Title: Summer Program Counselor
Location: Palos Verdes

Position summary
Responsible for instructing and interacting with students participating in the Chadwick Summer Program, ensuring that environment is safe and secure.
Major responsibilities
Applicants should be able to:
Work Saturday, June 15, 2024, through Friday, July 19, 2024 - Program not in session Wednesday, June 19, 2024, and Thursday, July 4, 2024.
Attend a staff “onboarding” session the week beginning Monday, June 10th (on-boarding sessions are 2 hours in length and paid)
Attend a mandatory staff training day on Saturday, June 15th from 9:00am – 3:00pm
Supervise campers during all camp activities
Instruct and interact with campers during all activities
Escort campers to classes, lunch, recreation, drop-off and pick-up activities, and participates in supervision.
Monitor and ensure appropriate student behavior and adherence to Chadwick core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, fairness and compassion.
Work cooperatively and amicably with all staff members
Promote a fun and relaxing environment by expressing a fun and upbeat attitude.
Report all accidents or injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager / supervisor
Follow all safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean and safe environment
Be professional in manner at all times, towards students, staff, parents and visitors.
Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull or place objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Be able to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time, or for the duration of the shift.
Complete all appropriate staff training.
Follow all Chadwick School policies as outlined.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, experience and skill requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or some college is preferred but not required.
Ability to work early morning or late afternoon a plus.
Individuals with previous applicable experience is preferred.
Computer proficiency required.
The ability to work with children is essential.
The ability to legally work in US is required.
Chadwick policy requires all employees to be 16 years of age before their hire date (Monday, June 10, 2024)
