Inlaid burl Italian chest of drawers ("comò"), 18th century - $2,500 (Palos Verdes)

Simple and elegant design.
XVIII century Italian, purchased in Rome in the sixties.
This is a large item: Approximate dimensions: 58” wide, 43” high, 25” deep Approximate weight: 200lbs Very sturdy construction and fully functional – presently being used to store linen Top, front and sides are in good conditions (see photos 1, 2, 3, 4).
Minor blemishes on the top (see photo 2) Notice the diamond design on the sides in photos 3 and 4 Drawers 2 and 4 have locks but I do not have the key.
The other two drawers have just a decorative key hole.
Bronze handles are original.
Construction uses pegs and nails.

The top peg on the right side of the top drawer is missing (see photo 6) Details of the crown and of the pedestal are in pictures 1, 2, 7 and 8 The planks in the back are made of very hard wood and are not planed (picture 9).
There is some beetle damage in the back planks but it's inconsequential because of the hardness of the wood No attempt has been made to polish it
